Our Scout Group

Based in Romsley in North Worcestershire, we're part of the world's largest youth organisation with 600,000 members in the UK and 60 million in over 180 countries. 
Age groups

6 – 8 years
Our Colony meets every Monday from 6.00 to 7.30pm

8 – 10½ years
Our Cub Pack meets every Tuesday from 7.00 to 8.30pm

10½ - 14 years
Our Scout Troop meets every Friday from 7.30 to 9.30pm

14 - 18 years
Young people can either join a local Explorer Scout Unit or become a Young Leader working with one of our younger sections
Organisation
  • All Leaders and supporters are voluntary and receive no payment whatsoever. 
  • There is a team of parents and friends behind the scenes helping to provide everything that our Scout Group needs to flourish.
  • We’re fortunate to have our own top quality Scout Centre for meetings and activities. We also hire out the Centre to other organisations and individuals for parties, dances & functions. 
  • The Scout Centre is completely self-funding. This means that all our fundraising goes towards activities for the young people.
  • We run our own minibus, camping equipment, games and activity equipment.
  • We usually hold two fund-raising activities a year, a Village Fayre & BBQ and a Family Quiz Night.​
Supporters
We have a Trustees Board that organises these events and supports the Scout Group. The Board comprises of parents, leaders and friends of the Scout Group. 

All of this helps us provide top quality Scouting for young people giving them skill for life. Parents can help us to achieve this – any time and help you can give us will be appreciated.
Membership Fee
We have a subscription of £40 per term.
 
Half of this goes towards the costs of meetings -  badges, games, refreshments, handicrafts, and so on.   Half goes to pay an annual Membership Fee to the Scout Association for each youngster every year.

We hold 2 annual fund-raising events to subsidise our activities and keep the cost down for parents.
